Scholarship Information 

 

Not every career path requires a traditional college education—many students find fulfilling and successful futures through vocational trade schools. These institutions provide hands-on training, equipping students with the skills needed to enter the workforce efficiently.

Ethan Legrand, a dedicated welder, ironworker, and, cherished member of his community, graduated from the welding program at Clarion County Career Center in 2022. Tragically, in 2024, Ethan’s life was cut short due to an automobile accident.

To honor his legacy, this scholarship aims to support students who share Ethan’s passion and determination for skilled trades, helping them pursue their career aspirations.

Scholarship Details

 

The Ethan Legrand Memorial Scholarship is open to seniors at Clarion County Career Center who demonstrate perseverance, compassion, and a strong work ethic. This scholarship provides financial assistance to students committed to furthering their education in vocational fields.

-1st Place Award: $2,000 (Welding & Fabrication Seniors)

-2nd Place Award: $1,000 (All Other Career Center Seniors)

-Application Deadline: April 25, 2025

-Winners Announced: May 15, 2025

 

Eligible Applicants: High School & Undergraduate Students at Clarion County Career Center

 

Application Process

 

We are seeking motivated individuals eager to take the next step in their vocational careers. Applicants must complete a formal application and submit a personal essay highlighting their goals, challenges, and aspirations.

Essay Requirements (400–600 words):

-Describe your career goals, hobbies, and personal struggles you have overcome.

-Explain how you are actively working toward your goals.

-Share how achieving them will impact your future.

 

This scholarship is designed to recognize students who exemplify Ethan’s ambition, resilience, and compassionate spirit.
